Application Process & Cabin Leader Application

Anyone interested in Cabin Leading will need to:

1) Submit an application

2) On the application you will need to provide 2 references who will need to complete a reference form on your behalf.

• you will need to know their email address & phone number to complete your application

If accepted to cabin lead you will also need to:

1) Be Live Scanned

2) Complete Abuse Awareness Training (2 hour online course)

Overview of Application & Onboarding Process:

1. Submit your application between 1/19/25 - 2/15/25

****UPDATED 2/24/25 - SOME OF THE CAMPS ARE STILL LOOKING FOR ADDITIONAL CABIN LEADERS.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO APPLY, EMAIL CynthiaT@jems.org for a password to access the application.

1. • This application may take longer than one sitting to finish.  You can save your progress at anytime by clicking the "save" button at the bottom right corner of each page of the form. 

2. Deans review submitted application

3. Deans will conduct Interview #1 (in person or a video call)

4. Deans will review references

5. Selected cabin leaders will receive a conditional offer letter to sign

   • Those not selected to serve this Summer, will also be notified.

6. First time cabin leaders will need to do Interview #2. 

7. All cabin leaders will need to be Live Scanned.

8. All cabin leaders need to complete online Abuse Awareness training (every 2 years)

9. All cabin leaders will need to submit an online registration form & pay online.

**SENIOR HIGH ONLY-  There is a supplemental application that will get emailed to you once you submit the main JEMS Cabin Leader application.

After submitting your application online, you can expect to be contacted by the Dean from your 1st choice camp within 2 weeks.  If you do not hear from a Dean within that 2 week time frame, please contact CynthiaT@jems.org
